With the support of Councilman Rodriguez, the City invested more than $50,000 in District 7 to create pocket parks, bike lanes and pathways, improved crosswalks, and aesthetically pleasing signage with the area’s new name.
The bike lanes have been built on Camino Santa Maria, Duke, Tulane, and Morning Glory streets. At numerous crossroads, notably Culebra and 36th Street and Bandera and Woodlawn, new “St. Mary’s Gateway District” street name signs have been put. Marquee signs have also been installed in two new pocket parks, Camino Santa Maria and Woodlawn, as well as the Cincinnati and Tulane locations. At the junctions of Camino Santa Maria and Cincinnati, as well as Camino Santa Maria and Woodlawn, enhanced crosswalks have been installed.
